Cim MacDonald

Cim began her professional career in fine arts with courses in drawing and painting at Malaspina University.  After winning several awards, Cim MacDonald Studios was launched in 1984.  Shaw Cable then approached her to produce a series of weekly water colour lessons, “Whet Your Appetite for Watercolours” followed by “Watercolours Outside-In”.

Creator and Curator

The Chemainus Festival of Murals offered Cim a job to create a mural related to the telephone company circa 1915. After completion, she was offered the job of Curator. During her 25-year career she painted 10 originals and repainted and repaired many of the others. 

Photographer

Painting and repairing murals took a lot of time, after working on a wall for hours painting wasn’t what she wanted to do. That was when photography became a second career.  She now teaches painting and photography.
